WASTAGE OF PUBLIC MONEY IRRSPONSIBLY AND WITHOUT PURPOSE

This is my observation on GHMC spending on pavement and footpath construction.
GHMC started constructing / installing public toilets in recent times. The following are my observations:
1. Constructing or installing on pavements, which are meant for other purposes, thus defeating the very purpose.
2. Many places water supply is insufficient or no supply
3. Pavement and footpath constructed for pedestrians, I believe. However, the same are being encroached by hawkers, residents, shops, Temples & Govt. or its agencies as above and by placing dust bins, electric poles etc.
When these constructions are not meeting required or desired purpose why they are to be constructed? After all this is public money and spent without use.
my question is whether there will be any need assessment for this kind of activities before taking up. Hyderabad require lot of infrastructure facilities like hospitals, quality based drainage systems and drinking water, coverage of open drains, smooth flow of flood water etc. The authorities can spend money for this kind of activities on priority rather than beautifying the city. Need to think seriously as it is all our money paid through taxes etc., and they should not spend whimsically. more

Referring to Mr. Raghavan's response, my email id : sitaramsn@yahoo.com more
They will fill the coffers of political leaders through the contractors. They are seldom maintained wherever they are constructed. Such projects, like taking public to show major irrigation projects spending crores of rupees, as done by Chandrababu Naidu for Polavaram project, became income for wreched politicians. Unfortunate in this country nobody is asking them to pay such expenditure back from either TDP party or pocket of Mr. Naidu, a proven cheat. more
I fully agree with Mr. S.N. Sitaram, The moment footpath is built anywhere, in no time hawkers occupy and defeat the very purpose of it.. more
Dear Sri Sn Sitaram garu, Can you give your mailid through these columns. would like to have a dialgodue with you. Raghavan AVS raghavan.avs@gmail.com, more
Yes, these sporadic placement of pre-fab structures on Pavement is a Public nuisance. GHMC must apply more imagination to do brainstorming wid Local residents& find out better way of providing such conveniences, in symmetrical manner, w/o encroaching any existing public facilities, more
The public conveniences as such now perchied in footpaths are prefab shelters. There is more to the acton of GHMC beyond the provision of toilets for public use. Like the Secretariat building which got demolished and weknow not, where the debris were dumped and how much was siphoned off as transportation and how much was collected from the interested persons who were filling up the landfills. How much has gone into the pockets of some interested persons is a question which will not be answered. What about the seasoned teak used in doors and windows, was it auctioned or given through tender process. High Court has sought a reply from telangana governemtn today as to why they have regularised construcitons in the lake beds? Encroaching the area caled waterbody is itself illegal and regularising the encroachment that too in the lake bed is a crime of tremendous proportion. When Osmania General Hospital was flooded and inpatients were shifted or forced to shift to safer places, was it so urgent to demolish the secretariat . Could the secretariat building not useworthy even for about 300 to 400 inpatients. If there is an enquiry, lots of things will come out in the open and bribery and graft will come under full daylight. Raghavan more
