I don't see any sense in OROP. Is it not based on basic pay at the time of retirement?! Why only in Defence, why not for Civil servants?!!
- Good to have OROP - really helps the jawans and their families.
- Response is very poor
- Most veterans need a more thought out support system. They are old, some are disabled, live in remote areas - how can one expect them to travel to a bank to collect their money or to prove that they are alive or to get medical help. They need all these basic needs met at home.
- Banks need to be made more Veteran-friendly.
- Reach out to more companies to hire veterans.
- Have industry experts - retd - to make them ready to join the civilian market space.
Ex-servicemen welfare must be done with active participation of ex-servicemen and their organisations. At the moment it is not serving a very useful purpose and the secretary is also not very interested in doing any thing new and innovative.
Please go through the article in Rediffmail new Titled as" Facilities provided at martyr's home removed after CM's visit" The UP Chief Minister Mr Yogi Adityanath visited the house of Shaheed Prem Sagar who has sacrificed his life for the nation. To felicitate the family at Village Tikampur of Deoria. District Administration made concrete road within 24 hours drains which were never cleaned were covered, Martyrs house was painted , installed AC, carpet were rolled comfortable sofa curtains were provided ,its good !! but after the CM left within half an hour all were removed why ? is this is the way our brave army men who are sacrificing their life for the nation and their families are treated. Mr Yogi should visit the house as it is ( not to be furnished because the CM is visiting ) The CM should take action against the officials who had made the visit as a mockery. Request CM Sahab to revisit the house as a surprise visit and see by himself.
