Metro Water and Sewage Board functions under this Department. This Board generally function without any Administrative Control of the Head of the Board. The field officers and works make the rules and decisions. They execute any work only if they want to do. In TEACHERS' COLONY coming in Kolathur area, but coming under Ambattur Leg. Constituency has been neglected for the past seven years in so far as Water and drainage facility is concerned. The Area people are refused to get the Metro Water domestic connection as well as Sewage domestic connection till date even though 1) this area is well within the Greater Chennai Corporation Limit, 2) this area is somewhat near to the Chennai oldest Metro Water works called Kilpauk water works, 3) this area is surroounded with many Metro water supply OverHead Tanks, 4) the Board laid the pipe lines partly long years back, 5) The Board has already commenced collecting Metro Water Tax and Sewage Water tax one and half year back. None of the M.P or MLA of the constituency have raised their voices about non provision of Water/Sewage connection in this area in Assembly or to the State Government. The Board and the party politicians find lucrative to supply water through Private Lorries to people residence, and remove Sewage water from the SEPTIC TANKS from the residence of this area with private Lorry . The GOVERNMENT AND THE BOARD have turned BLIND EYE and DEAF EARS towards the grievances of this area.

Yes the % of bribe paid to the coulcillors and the people involved is very...high... afyer paying all these again he workers and the materials had to be paid by the property owners...

Municipal Corpn is supposed to provide us Motarable Safe roads, Safe Drinking water, Uninterrupted Power. Anything is happening here? The recent rains brought us into danger, as there is no proper drainage system. We are paying for all the above mentioned facilities, and it is our fundamental rights to receive proper care. Autos in the city is a complete failure, as they practice rowdism. Anyone going to a police station for justice, bribe is rampant there.

The drinking water is precious and all efforts are to be made either by of WB loans or SPVs to get the DESAL plants installed all over the coastal TN districts to get this implemented successfully. We can look into the countries like Middle East where drinking water is always scarce . The water is one subject that cannot be ignored.
