True story: my brother in law, major architect and civil engineer in Kolkata, was with a friend in the country side and on their return late. So his friend suggested to stay over night in his house near by. There they had swarms of mosquitos and what to do ? His friend said : " No problem, I have got an effective solution. We have got here Shirota or Kalmegh herbs and these will protect us. The only little draw back is that these leaves are extremely bitter, more bitter than neem." My brother in law thought that he will be better of with such horrible bitter stuff than having the mosquitos all the night biting him, if these herbs do what has been promised. Next morning he got up, had no mosquito bites, but to his surprise there were numberless mosquitos on his body, all dead.
The latin name of this herb is Andrographis paniculata and - so far I have read - widely used in Ayurvedic medicine.

with this information I appeal all the organisations who are driving plantation drives to please include these plants in there menu so the breeding can be stopes and the benifits of this herb can be harvested more
