Being a Jain it would not be appropriate for me to comment on Hindu traditions. Hopefully Hindu brothers and sisters would take appropriate decision. More then crackers it is safari karamacharis and people who burn different materials in winter to keep themselves warm and unintentionally cause themselves harm. More night shelters and appropriate use of solar heat providers should cut down this unnecessary pollution. Much bigger and more poisonous form of pollution more
