Action taken on compliance to NGT orders
2. As per directions of District Administration, fire brigades were deployed in 09 regions of the district between 10AM and 12PM. Areas where fire brigades were used for sprinkling today were stretch between sector 75-78 in Noida, Phase 2 main road (Fire station to Sector 88 stretch), area around sector 61,62,63 and Mamura chowk, stretch between fire station Sector-58 to Khoda cut, service road along Noida-Greater Noida Expressway between sector 126 and 135, area around Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan and SSP office in Greater Noida, area around Pari chowk, Ecotech - I to Kasna and Ecotech III to Kisan chowk. This exercise shall continue in coming weeks.
3. Teams from UPPCB have inspected number of hot mix plants, brick kilns and industries. No brick kiln or hot mix plant was found operational today. Industries were also found closed. 01 industry in Ecotech I extension area and another industry in Surajpur UPSIDC area has been asked to stop its boiler as emissions were observed from these industries. All industries have been directed to comply with Hon’ble Supreme Court order regarding use of pet coke and furnace oil.
4. Fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- has been recommended to Authority for storage of construction material/debris/excavated mud in open without any cover near Sector alpha-1.
5. Fine is being recommended for burning of MSW in Sector 81, Noida.
6. No incidence of agricultural waste residue burning has been reported/observed today.
7. Hon’ble National Green Tribunal has lifted the ban on Construction activity. Letters have been issued by District Magistrate, Gautam budh Nagar to all concerned Authorities to ensure that all construction sites follow guidelines issued by MoEF, CPCB and NGT with regards to control of air pollution from construction activity and fines to be imposed against defaulters.
8. 03 vehicles have been seized by transport department as per NGT’s orders. Besides this in last 5 days more than 50 vehicles have been challaned for not having proper PUC, overloading and not having appropriate fitness certificate
At 2100Hours, highest value of PM2.5 observed at Sector 125, Noida station on 17/11/17 was 286.67 µg/m3 between 0700 to 0800 Hours and lowest value of 82.50 µg/m3 was observed between 1600 to 1700Hours. Similarly, highest value of PM10 observed at Sector 125, Noida station on 17/11/17 was 395 µg/m3 between 0700 to 0800 Hours and lowest value of 182.75 µg/m3 was observed between 1600 to 1700Hours.
As per Air Quality Index bulletin released by Central Pollution Control Board, New Delhi on 17/11/17, AQI of NOIDA has shown considerable improvement in last 24 hours and is now in POOR category at 286, this is based on average of two Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations operational in Noida (Sector 125 UPPCB station and Sector 62 IMD station). more
