Indian Medical Association is angry over the centre’s push for Patanjali’s Coronil. Say this could have a damaging effect in parts of the country where people may not follow protocols thinking they’re protected. Say Need long term evidence. What is the view of members of this circle?
When the WHO has said that it has neither reviewed nor clarified this medicine, how can the health minister endorse it? Why are they making guinea pigs of us. Indian life is cheaper than those of other countries I presume. more
Like IMA for allopathy system, GOI should set up agencies/associations for Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic systems..... It is for Health Ministry to take help from such associations directly for any decision-making. All medical systems should have opportunity to do research and practice in a Government prescribed manner in the best interest of humanity.... more
Mr. S,Bhargava says "Medical treatment is a big business in India" - thee no second opinion on that. In the name of Modern medicine, long list of investigations, Scans are done and fixtures, stents are also done just because it is available. About 3 decades back how Caesarian operations were done even when with a little wait normal delivery could have been done. The tactics was to throw fear, insecurity and make tall claims. That doesnt mean OTHER STREAMS OF MEDICINES ALSO HAVE TO FOLLOW THE SAME MALPRACTICES. All the streams are started by sane and committed practitioners who devoted their life time and saved several lives and alliviated several conditions.Charaka and Sishruta are devine people with special skills in Medicine and Srgery, they are indigenous and people and their inventions and practices should be hailed folowed ethically . But the traders of such devine practices today seems to have commercialized the whole matter, throwing the Ayuvedic Ethic to the Winds. A good example of the honey manufactured by Pathanjali has been rejected for sales by the Army stores. The CSD has a strict quality assurance pracices, the products made available in theiir stores for our Jawans are the best in India. So we have to go foe other Indigenous medicine manufacturers like Himalay, Zandu and so on. more
