Delhi Is Broken

I am glad good folks at LocalCircles got the Dehi lockdown extended but you must also question the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister as to why the lockdown was not imposed on April 1.

Had they done that the situation in the video would have not come. People dying on hospital gates and in homes would not have happened.

This is epic governance failure. Delhi should be locked till the daily cases dont come back to 1000 and everyone who needs a hospital bed gets one. more

PM comes into the picture only if a national lockdown is to be imposed. For state level decisions the CM is the authority. Its a question of assessment & judgement. Till the 16th Delhi CM thought that a total lockdown was not a solution. Next day he changed his opinion. If on the 3nd May he still feels that lockdown is necessary, he will extend it. Have faith in his judgement he's an IIT graduate after all. more
Lockdowns break the exponential rise in case and momentum. Benefits of lockdown only ,if huge number of people are vaccinated. This period of death, suffering will teach people to obey and discipline themselves towards Appropriate COVID Behaviour, hope so . Someone in every family has suffered. more
No one died due to lack of Lockdown. People died because they did not care to follow the Laid down rules. N one can be blamed except we ourselves. No dearth of functions and parties and people not bothered even to wear masks and no social distancing at all. Despite having provided guidance on a daily basis, people did not bother to follow. more
Bilkul sahi, Padam ji!
You have identified the root cause of this devastating 2nd wave. more
I agree with Subrata. Don't play the blame game, look within us. What does it take to wear a mask and even afford it. Don't go to these festivals etc. AND pls. don't buy any chinese crap - the money we give them is just for digging our own graves. I hope the world has learnt their lesson by now. more
I totally agree with this. I have 5 family members suffering from this and no guidance provides by authorities, leave the talks of getting any help. And I personally believe that little awareness on what to do and when to do could save 100 of life's but thr is no system in Delhi at this point of time more
