Thank you all for noting my concern and responding to help.So far I have done this. Xray - Doc Says Normal . MRI doc says osteoarthritis degenerative changes ,tear too small to operate so take painkiller antilammatory for effusion ,no over exertion and physical therapy exercises to build quadriceps knee muscles to support knee joint. In my net research found reference to indian herb bosewella serrata - shallaki in hindi supposed to be aninflammatory for joint pain which I have just started taking ( avaialble under brand name - Rumalya forte/shallki capsules by Himalaya co. & also rumalya gel for topical application .inaddition to regular consumption of glucosamine. Also kwick another cream by ozone ayurvedics is supposed to help but haven't yet started .Am trying to consult homeopathy which i have not yet done. Thought to share this info if members wish to try/have comments about their experience of these methods being effective/non effective or if they have tried any other thing worth trying which is effective. Pls keep sharing thanks jaspreet 9811005891 more
Please be careful in how you approach your treatment, and do not just act on any or every gratuitous advice. I too have a meniscus tear in my left knee for last minimum two years. But the pain and problems you are facing are not only because of the meniscus tear. Most probably you would have other problems too, particularly osteoarthritis. Please go for an MRI to get a complete picture and take the image to a good orthopaedician. The latter is the most difficult part of it; there are any number of orthopaedicians, but from my experience most of them are good only for routine problems. Only very few of them would be sound enough to look into the problem in a sufficiently professional and knowledgeable manner. The other big problem is that an orthpaedician's principal interest in the private sector would be to make money - the orthopaedician who discovered my meniscus tear immediately proceeded to persuade me to undergo an arthroscopic procedure, and then, most incredibly, he did not even repair it, and an orthopaedician in a big, government hospital just does not have enough time to give you proper attention. I suppose the solution, that entails additional effort, is to consult more than one ortho, on both sides of the spectrum, and then reach a carefully considered decision regarding the course of treatment. But it is important that you get proper treatment and management of your problem, or else a persistent pain in the knee can have psychological problems too, affecting life and life-style both. If you wish to discuss it further with me, please feel free to call me on my mobile 9910447725. more
