MTNL, Delhi charging after disconnected connections in Delhi

It is seen that Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, Delhi after disconnecting the Telelphone connection and the telephone instrument is taken by them they continue to send the monthly service charges bill to whom the connection was registered. When the telephone is disconnected & their instrument is taken by them they are not supposed to charge the monthly service charge bill & send to the person whom the connection was registered. It is requested concerned authorities will look in to this & make necessary instructions so that this practice should not be continued. more

yes, same it is happened wth me also in East Delhi and few of my friends also got the bills. No one is there to ask even whether it is working or not more
Just lodge your grievance with https://www.pgportal.gov.in/Home/LodgeGrievance and you will find the MTNL people running to resolve the issue. more
Well we have similar experience with MTNL. with phones not working for years and MTNL not having sufficient staff to attend, still they send you bills ....... Was forced to disconnect broadband for BAD or not working service for which one was being charges 1500/- Rs a month. Sad state of affairs more
Yes, this happens with me also by BSNL Ahmedabad. I have disconnected connection in December, 2020 till date my security deposit amount not yet refunded. One office to other offices to enquire but no reason given. Mails sent to GM, BSNL Gujarat no reply or acknowledgment. Their Is no telephone number listed for senior officers. Online complaint has no proper system to record. Are any responsible person from BSNL can reply. Ajay Kumar Sinha, 9953680140 more
It's always good to send an Email alongwith details of telephone line disconnection date & no. and copy of the financial settlement to marketing & finance section including bill section. that may end up the issue. Usually it takes time to communicate all section after disconnect the line. I also faced it and immediately intimated the concerned as financial settlement was made final and nothing pending. more
