It is always these few unsolicited members of our society who promote such things. I am not against pet dogs or people petting animals but then they should take full responsibility of managing the pets as well in terms of their health, hygeine, vaccination, shelter, fooding, not allowing them to poop in public area and keep them leashed and inside their own houses rather let them stray in open!!! Can someone help us all in this regard! more
Rightly endorsed by Iqbal/Krishan.... The only solution of this menace is Population control as has been practised in other countries, by this one day we can get 100% results if done sincerely by involving the Residents, RWA, Govt Agencies, Pet Clinicians and NGOs like People for Animals and Friendicose. Killing, beating or throwing them to other places will not work. Get them Sterilised, Vaccinated and then few residents can take the responsibility of feeding and taking care (health aspects) of the limited populations that remains in the locality. Those who dont like dogs or are afraid of them can help indirectly by collecting funds involved for this project and let every living being live peacefully. Teach children to love and be compassionate to animals. To me this seems to be the best solution. more
Iqbal Malik, Problem of stray dogs can not be solved by sending them to other places. The only solution to this great menace is to sterilize the each and every stray dog. So that there population can be controlled. BUT WHICH AGENCY WILL STERILIZE THEM. If sterilization movement had taken place in India, we all have not to face the menace of STRAY DOGS. Dr. Shashi Dhingra, I totally agree with you that every living being live in harmony. Human beings are also like to live in harmony, but the stray dogs have taken the mental peace of our society. We are afraid of dogs. Myself have been bitten by the stray dogs two times and my wife was also bitten by the stray dogs. I was attacked by the pet dog, which was without leash. We Indians are useless fellows who can not stop the menace of these STRAY DOGS and it is easy to make responsible to government agencies and RWA. more
We know stray dogs are there , we know that even if we catch them and send them some where other dogs from other places will come to take their place .Yes management is needed. If one cannot manage all strays of the city lets manage strays of ones colony. Management means getting them vaccinated , neutered and feeding them. There is nothing else that will work . more
Its the responsibility of the whole society to see that every living being lives in harmony and not of some selected few who feed the stray dogs at least they r doing their part. RWA Govt agencies r equally responsible. Taking a pet dog out without leash is a legal offense and cn be penalised. more
