Unable to check PF balance online

Hi all,

I left my previous employment in December 2001. Due to reasons best known to my employer, they did not acknowledge / sign PF withdrawal form. Now, I have created UAN but am unable to check my balance. When I try to download passbook, a message is displayed that "member passbook is not available". Kindly advise whether it is possible to get the PF balance information online.

Thank you all for your guidance. For your information, since I left my previous company, I did not join anywhere. I am working as self employed professional. The UAN was created using the EPFO website which allows creation of UAN on the basis on old PF number. I need to know the PF balance and withdraw the same. Thanks, SG more

If you are presently employed you can get the UAN from that employer. Else you can generate by visiting to epfindia.com. You need to fill a small online form and the UAN will be sent to your mobile. more

you have created UAN means presently you might be working with some one right, and you got the UAN from the present employer. So, apply for the online transfer instead of withdrawing which you have to send the filled form to previous employer and he should approve it. May be either ways with present employer also it can be done , but it takes some time as the present employer has to send it to your previous employer. if any thing went wrong like mistakes happen in mentioning name, mismatch by mistake contact the PF pessonnel related to that area by contacting and filing grieveince on the portal. then you will be alloted one Pf official for resolving the issue. again they will ask you to mail it again by filling a physical form to your previous employer looping pf official and physical copy to employer as you cannot claim it online again once already claimed,filed but some mistake happened. more
