Urgent need to oppose decriminalisation of stubble burning

The Government is seriously considering per media reports to agree to farmers demand that the farmers will not be penalised for stubble burning as mentioned under the ‘Commission for the Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Ordinance, 2020’.

This will lead to no incentive for farmers to not burn stubble. We need to seriously oppose this as residents of Delhi.

Govt may have protest fatigue and agree to this but we will suffer for long if this happens. Our and our children' lungs will pay the price. more

I Totally agree that Government should take a strong stand and not back down as regards stubble burning. It is the greatest sin of all humans to knowingly put the lungs and lives of little children in danger. It tantamounts to abetting the most heinous crime. more
The elected government of Delhi, led by our CM, is busy supporting all demands of farmers without any concern for the people who elected them. We must raise the issue and protests with our own Delhi government first before expecting the Central government to take care of Delhi all the time- whether it is COVID 19 management or stubble burning. more
Any developed country is not supporting Stuble burning. It should be banned more
GOImust not yield to these people who do not care for others but pnly for themselves. The blackmailing should be discouraged at all costs. Why they chose winter season for agitation. All blackmailing tricks supported by foreigners like Canada more
