Use of Loud Speakers in public places

I am concerned as to how to live in my own country.

I am 72+, living alone, doing everything all by myself. No help.

I have several medical problems including HTN, frequent night urination, prostate problem, disturbed sleep, lumbar pain, left knee pain, and right ankle pain.

Go to bed at about 7 PM and wake up at about 2.30AM. Do pranayama (Breathing exercises) followed by yogasanas and at the day break go for about 2 hours morning walk including buying required fruits and vegetables during the return leg.

Any disturbance, including loud speakers, between 7 PM to 3 AM, will have adverse consequences on my health.

I do not like loud speakers even in the day time. I do not go the see a movie because of the blaring sound systems inside.

I definitely like songs in low volume.

Recently local circles have asked for voting on the use of loud speakers. Unfortunately none of the voting options was for NO USE OF LOUDSPEAKERS.

How will I survive, with blaring loud speakers? more

I did not experience a single religious or political sound, one week in Singapore. Why do we need it here? more
In my opinion, the sound of the public address system should not go out of the hall/premises. If religious place, then sound must die within the premises/hall. Like in hotels, the sound of the public address system / DJ etc does not go out of the designated hall. It does disturb other guests in the hotel. In procession the loud speakers should not be allowed.... Every one has right to enjoy high sound but your enjoyment should not disturb other citizens.... more
The Decibel levels are fixed by law. These should be strictly followed. Banning the Loud Speakers is not legally possible. The existing guidelines should be strictly enforced. more
We have to be xtremely consideratw to each other individually and community wise. One persons Joy shouldnt turn out be another persons Woe. more
Thank you Amitava Sur for your post. I completely agree with you, NO outdoor Loudspeakers to be allowed anytime, especially not for Religious establishments. As per Rules on Sound Pollution, use of loudspeaker loudness in Decibels is to be controlled within prescribed limits; during Day Time 6AM-10PM at 55 dB(A) Leq and Night Time 10PM-6AM at 45 dB(A) Leq. Moreover, all MPs and MLAs and other such representatives, paid salaries must use public transport for travel to and fro Parliament House and Assemblies, and most other Perks must be withdrawn. This, in my opinion, can be the first step to find a Long Term solution for the havoc being created in our nation. more
