Its shocking to see a drastic difference between Delhi's traffic sense and that of Ghaziabad..... its really vary sad state of affairs. Traffic policing is non existent in Ghaziabad and to a large extent in Noida also. Its hi time seniors / administration should wake up and do something about it.
They are there but they are not there. They are standing at every crossing but not doing anything. They are always busy on their mobile. They have not gone thru proper training. I stay near the SSP office and probably the SSP himself is not aware about the chaos outside his office.
Ghaziabad Traffic Police is a non-existent entity, they only show up when they want to earn quick money by presenting challans to two-wheeler owners. There are daily chain and phone snatching incidents, if you go to a local police station no one would file your FIR and non-existent traffic police would be present to catch these thieves. I've seen Ghaizabad police personnel standing indifferently in case of commotions and jams, completely inactive and letting the vehicles stuck in traffic feel miserable, but sometimes, they do control traffic for sometime.
Hyderabad police being active during the nights has brought in a lot of confidence to ordinary citizens like me. Keep it up although I think police needs to interact more with civil society and make themselves more approachable
