One more thing i can say that many people ride their bikes and cars in opposite sides. These are very common in hyderabad. Even i saved myself many times. Traffic police should take care of this also. Many times i saw that traffic police busy talking and people are facing jam issue at the signals.
Hyderabad Traffic Police thinks that their duty is only to click a photograph and load it on the website for challan collection. My vehicle was challaned 25 times when parked in front of a nursing home (it doesnt come under no parking area).I wrote to the DCP Traffic but nothing was done,I had to pay 6000Rs to clear my vehicles no from the website. The police just blame the GHMC for not increasing the parking areas ,they just are not people friendly ,they are money friendly
Effective traffic management will be achieved only when the indiscipline in traffic movement is arrested. Most of the two and three wheelers are responsible for the traffic jams and accidents. They should be sternly punished for their offences if the Hyderabad Traffic Police want to be successful. More concentration on collecting fines from other offenders such as deficient paper work, though equally important, is resulting in lack of attention to the main problem of traffic flow. The priorities should be set right to become effective.

Neither traffic management is good nor the public behaves responsibly. Both sides need severely reformed. Good amount of fines on traffic offences and sincere sustained efforts by Police department are needed
They have target to collect fines for traffic violation. It is good but in their enthusiasm to collect fines the public are fined even when there is no violation. They have a unilateral way of challaning by sending fine notice. There should be a way out. The public should have an avenue to resent this kind of high handedness. This is nothing but misuse of power. We were shocked to receive a notice for Rs1000/ when no such violation took place.
The traffic police are recommending to GHMC for road dividers without proper improvement in road/junctions or thinking over the difficulties of the commuters. On e such example is in our street from Hindi Maha Vidyalaya to Ram Nagar "Y" Junction. A copy of my letter to Police in this regard is self explanatory.
"On the Ramnagar “Y” junction on the Shankermutt – Osmania University Road dividers were placed last year. You can observe that for people coming from Street No 5/(now 11) on this road need to take a “U” turn to proceed towards Nallakunta / Shankermutt and only a narrow part of the road is available at this “Y” junction on the side opposite to Pannalal Building. We are finding very difficult to take this turning more particularly for 4 wheelers which are used by Senior Citizens like me for transport more so at peak hours. Since negotiating this turn involves driving the vehicles to and forth, this is also causing frequent traffic jams at the junction apart from inconvenience to the residents and commercial establishments at the junction. A personal visit to the junction will enable you to realize the ground reality, and difficulties in negotiating a “U” turn at this junction as expressed by us. We need your help in the mater to appraise the matter to officials at higher level since the dividers were placed by GHMC in order to streamline the traffic on your department’s advice. The junction as such needs improvement by suitable expansion of the road to make it properly usable"
Hyderabad police being active during the nights has brought in a lot of confidence to ordinary citizens like me. Keep it up although I think police needs to interact more with civil society and make themselves more approachable
