Most states are doing absolutely nothing in this regard....they should not be given any budget like for e.g Telangana has used the money to give to Tirupati or to fill the party coffers. India is not only one of the most polluted counties we are a country sitting on a heap of garbage. We have the distinction of being one of the most filthy countries where we have not even left our religious places clean. While this is an uphill task solutions to reducing landfills need to be seriously considered and tenders given to new and innovative ideas - like converting plastic into roads, building material etc. Encourage this industry and people who can work in this field.
Our forests and lakes are being decimated. There should be no reason why forests should be cut down and farming is allowed due to political pressure. Encourage growth of plants and renewal of destroyed forests. Get corporates to adopt forests to renew native trees and plants and animals into being revived and save our planet for future generations.

Environment ministry seems toi be an adjunct of the ministry fir Industries, with little care for environment.
Ministry of Environment should realise that every developmental activity has an environmental cost associated with it. However development is required. By delaying clearances to projects the Ministry is increasing the project costs. The Ministry should have a time frame for clearances for various types of projects required to take India forward.
