What is the logic behind increasing penalty rate???? is these a way to collect and empty the pocket of people. Do police think that by this way traffic and accident problems can be resolved....This is not the right way....to impose the law.
Though Surat Traffic police is working hard, it suffers from (1) lack of trained man power (2) Petty corruption (3) Lack of whole hearted support from SMC related to encroachments (4) Lack of discipline on the part of vehicle owners/road users - This has become a serious issue inspite of efforts being made by traffic department. It is time to introduce punitive measures to discipline the citizens.(5) Lack of adequate parking space or citizens not using desiganted parking places ( Like in Varachha or Gaurav Path)
The above opiniun is not correct. only police is not responsible but public is missing some traffic sense responsibility. They are not cooperating police if you see closely.
The worst till wherever I have been, instead of traffic , traffic police is nuisance . Only busy collecting fines and no one controlling traffic. If by mistake we try to advice them, they act as if they are our kings and use filthy language .
Top rank for 5/5 for collecting fine, but zero for traffic management. Looks like they have lost the way from managing traffic to collecting fine. I dont get idea of standing at a single point in team of 7-8 or sometimes even 15 and collecting fine rather than managing traffic at 15 different junctions. God knows who got this idea. We have seen auto rickshaws breaking rules pathetically, lot many road side vendors create traffic chaos but cops become blind. if you have not wear helmet you are playing with your life but if auto rickshaws create traffic nuisance, they are harassing others. can someone please take some step to have good traffic sense in people. can anyone think of a traffic junction without cop & still people follow traffic signal? no.. its just a silly dream for Surtis... :(
Hyderabad police being active during the nights has brought in a lot of confidence to ordinary citizens like me. Keep it up although I think police needs to interact more with civil society and make themselves more approachable
