Aam Aadmi Party will contest 60-70 seats in Maharashtra, says Anjali Damania

Don't understand why they cant be in sync??

Rejecting speculations that are making rounds in the political arena after Arvind Kejriwal's appeal that 'the party should not contest upcoming assembly elections and focus on Delhi', the state convener Anjali Damania told dna “the party may not be contesting all seats but would be contesting one fourth of the seats.

Arvind Kejriwal, in an interaction on on Google Hangout with party's Delhi volunteers, said:“The Aam Aadmi Party should not contest in Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly polls and focus only on Delhi.

Talking to dna Damania said: “During the national executive meet I had kept the proposal that we should first do the internal assessment and then take a final call. We have asked district committees to submit the report on various election related aspects before 7th of July. Till now we have had nine 'Chintan Shibhir' in Maharashtra. Though we haven't yet decided on what constituencies we should filled candidates, we would be contesting the state elections. Members and party workers would take a final call.”

“During Lok Sabha elections, Modi sold a dream to people of the country. But in the state there is no 'Modi' and no strong leadership. BJP lacks a credible face, while Congress-NCP alliance has worsen the state condition.” she added.

Party think tank fielded more than 400 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, but it had faced a major defeat, where even the party's every prominent leader, including Kejriwal, suffered a loss.

Except for winning four Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, the party failed to open its account in any other State. In Maharashtra it had contested 48 seats, out of which 47 candidates lost their deposits.

Although the current government is stable, the prices of petrol, sugar and rail fare has gone up, she said, “The required change is not taking place. Whatever is happening is inevitable. During the Lok Sabha we focused on the issue of corruption, but if the 90 per cent money is siphoned off and only 10% is used, then how will progress take place? Before contesting election, we want to have a concrete 'plan' She added. more

AAP should continue it's growth by contesting every election in every state as was done in lok sabha elections. This is to develop leadership and mass base. This is a long journey. Congress and BJP are not big challenges. India is in dire need of third political power at national level. This will be realised in coming 3 months time. -------------------------------------------- On Tue, 1/7/14, Manju Patel wrote: Subject: New post "Aam Aadmi Party will cont..." in [Aam Aadmi Party Mumbai] To: uhbhise1663@yahoo.com Date: Tuesday, 1 July, 2014, 6:23 AM --- REPLY ABOVE THIS LINE TO POST A COMMENT- Manju Patel Manju Patel posted a message in "Aam Aadmi Party Mumbai". Jan Lokpal bill passed by Parliament being not good is debatable. I don't have any reason to doubt Anna Hazare ji's decades long credentials as a honest, upright citizen and a crusader against corruption. Again, Kiran Bedi & Swami Ramdev ji supporting NaMo is entirely their wish, privilege, perogative & right. In a democracy everybody has a right to support whichever party they think is right. While we are on the topic of Jan Lok Pal, I would like to add that on a larger issue, we will have to accept that AAP foregoing Delhi Government was very wrong. The entire debate of "Delhi Jan Lok Pal" was a non-isssue. Delhi had already a Lokayukta and Arvind Kejriwal just needed to get the amendments done that he required. It was a golden chance. If Congress & BJP had not supported the amendments on the floor of the Delhi assembly they would have been exposed. I still don't understand that when IAC / AAP was formed on the most important issue of corruption why did Arvind Kejriwal shirk away from his duty of strengthening the Delhi Lok Ayukta Bill. more
The JANLOKPAL passed in Parliament was of no use.what the experts says is even an ant cant be punished. Its just an eyewash bill.Just think those who are part of scams will will ti punish themselves thru this bills. Definitely not. They will provide loopholes in the bill to safe guard them. Then what is the use of that kind of bill.If they have that much of interest about nation they wont do that scams etc.My final say is that until you become lawmaker u cant make law which you exactly want to.That's why they want to come in political stream.Even kiran bedi , ramdev who are saying they don't want to come into political stream are also supporting BJP & coming into it. more
Yes, I am involved in Social organization. I dis-agree with you that you cannot change much thru' social organization. IAC itself is an example, IAC was not and is not a political organization but the kind of work it has done is phenomenal. There was a national awakening in India under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal's Guru Anna Hazare ji, a Gandhian who has used Gandhian way of hunger strikes to arose national consciousness, which ensured that the Jan Lokpal Bill was passed in Parliament, he was ably supported by Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi, Swami Ramdev ji & also by Manish Sisodia, Shazia Ilmi & Kumar Vishwas. more
Jitendra ji, Have you got ever involved in any social organization. If so you can understand that nothing can be achieved thru social organizations. The best example is Annahazare movement on JANLOKPAL .One of the biggest movement . Ultimate result what happened.Without in power u cant change the system.until the system changes u cant achieve nothing . The people who started AAP or not politicians they are well experienced social activists with lot of experience behind them. Practical problems they can better understand than you & me . With the present political leaders bunch can you expect change for betterment of common man. Now a days politics has become a big business.Spend cores of rupees in election to earn that with profit do scams, and take decisions in favor of crony capitalists. They don't bother about common man. So let AAP be as a political organization.what happened to IAC .Kiran bedi & Ramdev baba etc sees BJP as a alternative. How it can can control corruption with corrupted leaders in it. If that much they cant understand. What can we do.Keeping their personal interests a head they are supporting BJP. Then there is no meaning of IAC. If u cant see the things in correct perspective don't come to a conclusion. Or else if already come to a conclusion then go with it & support present system of politics and the parties with in . more
