Accountability of Food controllers

I find that the state food controllers (most of them) make a lot of money via bribes (inspectors earn, send it up the chain), in some cases, food minister gets his cut also.

Why is FSSAI not fixing this process. Till they just stay policy arm of Govt and don't get down and dirty, they will never be able to make food safe and nutritious in our country. Inspectors will keep harrassing business, business will never comply (fire compliance is similar) and consumers will keep eating substandard or adulterated food.

Time for fssai to celebrate less and do more if they want to improve food quality for indians... more

bribery in food inspector division is rampant and must be curbed to make the food safe. more

Unless there is a clear political will nothing will change. I am afraid why former CM of Tamilnadu Late Ms J Jayalalitha amassed Rs 11,000/- Crores worth of wealth and we all know what happened to her. What is happening to Shriman Lallu Yadow not he but the whole of his family is in the soup. The same is the case with many. But still many don’t want to learn. more
Bribery is very common in FSSAI.We hardly hear any case.If detected it should be exemplified. more
Process in not intentionally fixed as the open ended process alwayz help the corruption and that seems to be only the motive irrespective of whichever Govt. is in power. All politicians are same abusing the power. Now within the open chain of corrupt system, the citizens need to protect themselves. We ourselves need to be vigilant and start awareness on the practices leading to boycott the products inferior for the consumption. Local circle is one such platform wherein you can contribute to the society without being dependent on corrupt politicians, regulatory framework etc. more
