Coronavirus - Food imports from China

Can FSSAI please update us on what food items are coming from China and what restrictions are being placed by fssai in light of the coronavirus disruption? I am very concerned about any frozen meats/non veg that comes from there.

Is there a risk in here? more

Concentrate on desi foods and avoid imported frozen food items. But we Indians are to weak towards and kind of foreign goods including food items, which crates problems at times. Let the respective government agencies do their work and discharge their responsibilities honestly and do have some faith on them. more

It was China which was importing Bovine meat from India ; but suspended after the Foot and mouth disease . But we are importing Basa fish from Vietnam along with other fish . It is cheaper Compared to Indiaprices . Som State Health Departments are Vigilent about the Packaged food Quality . Read the attachment from a news paper fom Manipur , the N.E. State that borders Myanmar , which borders China and Thailand . more
First of all do we really import meat products from China or export the same . Why hypothetical on meat and frozen food import from china. Real issue is spread of NeoContvirus through human contact as many Chinese people are in Indian Companies and also visitors to China frequently and return back since early Jan 2020 and real situation could be revealed only after thorough preliminary examination of such people after due tracking their movement and their medical sample examination. These effort require public support and not creating panic situation in India. May be in our weather condition , many virus may not survive or behave differently. more
I feel its better to stop using imported frozen food for some months. more
Ms Anshu Saxena..... when you are so concerned, what is your problem in NOT BUYING these items? Even food items, it would be a national service if you stopped buying all items MADE IN CHINA. more
