Fire India’s aviation minister

Flying to Patna has become more expensive than flying to Paris from Delhi during Chhath Puja.

Delhi to Patna: Rs 23,000
Delhi to Dubai: Rs 12,000
Delhi to Paris: Rs 22,500

Shame on such aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu of TDP.

What an failure in ability to stop loot of common airline passengers.

Go home man, this job is not for you more

Possible Solutions: Regulation of Fares During Festivals: The Aviation Ministry could consider imposing temporary price caps or fair pricing mechanisms during high-demand periods like Chhath Puja to prevent airlines from exploiting passengers. This would require active market monitoring and possibly working with airlines to establish maximum fare limits. Promotion of More Competition: Encouraging more airlines to operate on smaller and high-demand routes would help reduce the monopoly pricing that airlines can charge. The government could incentivize low-cost carriers to service smaller cities like Patna, Kolkata, and others during peak seasons. Better Infrastructure and Connectivity: Improving regional connectivity through initiatives like UDAN (which connects smaller towns with bigger cities) would not only bring down fares but also make flying to smaller destinations like Patna more affordable and accessible to the general public. Increased Transparency: If the government or aviation bodies can provide better pricing transparency, passengers would be able to make more informed choices about when to book and which airline to fly with. Airlines should also be required to disclose why fares increase significantly during certain periods. Conclusion: The frustration you're expressing is valid, as high airfares during peak seasons can be burdensome for passengers. The Aviation Ministry needs to actively look into policies that can control fare hikes during festivals, improve competition, and make air travel more accessible and affordable. While the market does play a role, the government can help ensure that citizens are not overburdened by excessively high fares, especially when they have limited choices. more
Main factor responsible for this is fuel price in India, which is much much higher then in Europe or USA or many other Countries. If fuel price is brought on par with other countries, then probably fares may reduce. Even practically 99% expenses in Aviation is in US Dollar. more
I don’t believe this is the answer. It is just not fuel prices. There are other taxes also. The government should realise that it is nit just the rich who travel by air. more
There must be a cap on upper limits of air fare genuinely within a reasonable limit. more
The minister should always be in working n vibrant mode to ensure no one exploits the situation. more
Mr.Dutta, here all andhbhakts are advocating for BJP led government ,it seems that they are on payroll of BJP.Even if they also feel same pinch still they will not put blame on the govt. They don't know that they are putting their next generation into jeopardize. more
Mr. Srivastava, mind your language. You have no business to call the members Andhbhakts just because they write something logical. Do not bring in politics here. more
