FSSAI to be trained by Nestle

Going through flipboard and there is news in mint saying Nestle (the maggi manufacturer) has opened a food safety training set up in manesar and will train fssai on the subject.

Question is - had this been the case in 2015, would the fssai officals have caught the maggi samples with excess lead.

FSSAI - you are supposed to work for protecting consumer interest. Are you switching sides? Ever heard of a term called Conflict of Interest?

Explain if intentions are clean otherwise we know. more

It’s simply ridiculous. Theives are teaching police how to catch the theif more
This news needs to be verified by FSSAI. The checking of quality of edible products is a job of Scientist. Do we shortage of graduate and post graduate scientists or Testing Laboratories? I do not think that is the situation. The present Scientists in FSSAI must have been trained before / after joining FSSAI. more
Why going back to 2015? Nestle (USA) had to recall 'Drumstick Club 16 Count Variety Pack and 24 Count Vanilla Pack made at their California plant. KITKAT Original Milk Chocolate Bites Pouch Bag in UK - in the current year repeat 2017. However, we may also consider the fact that a criminal is always at least one up from the police. Police learns the novelty of crimes from the crimes committed by criminals. However, the quanta of 'Gurudakhsina' to be paid to the criminal by the fssai for and on behalf of the citizens of india, also need be revealed. Is the Govt. of India feeling shy about the CENTRAL FOOD TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE, MYSORE regarding their expertise on 'food safety'? more
It is not conflict of Interest only but also "giving the key to the thief". Are there not good Institutions in India for training the FSSAI personnel or WHY NOT WE TRAIN THEM ABROAD SO THAT THEY GAIN GOOD KNOWLEDGE. wHEN AN iNITIAL BATCH OF EFFICIENT OFFICERS ARE TRAINED FROM REPUTED iNSTITUTIONS IN THE WORLD others may be trained by these personnel and may be a training Institute by Government may be established. more
What is our priority? Having sufficient good quality (who will define good quality, purchaser or supplier? If the supplier starts deciding, then they will make sure that only they or their product will get the quality certificate. Then what will happen to all the food stuff produced by other sources? Shall we throw all "bad quality" product? And if yes, where shall we throw so that no one gets hand to these thrown stuff. Is it possible? Then there will be shortage of "Quality product". It is high time we first think of preserving what all we produce ensuring that nothing is lost due to perishing, infection or due to whatever other cause. We should first have good storage system, good transportation system and good distribution system. Let the last piece of food reach some ones stomach. Then only let us talk about "Quality". more
