Games played with Expiry Date on hampers

I want to highlight another game played by food companies. Some companies create food hampers on festivals. Like most of us wanting to gift loved ones on diwali we go and buy these hampers and then gift them. They publish an expiry/best before date on hamper. However when you open them, the best before dates on products inside is different and very little shelf life is remaining.

Since such gifts are bought by one and consumed by other person (who gets the gift), many brands or gift packers take advantage.

I request fssai to intervene and atleast take action where the single brand itself is the supplier of products inside and the maker of hamper. May be for others consumer ministry can take action. more

But Mr Rao, physical shopping of a hamper will not also reveal the expiry dates of products inside. more
The FSSAI must mandate in no uncertain terms that products due to expire within a period of 60 days prior to sale are separately displayed and marked. If this is not followed stiff penalties should be imposed. more
This is criminal offence. more
In one of the recent Local Circles sharing, the limitations n responsibilities of FSSAI was clearly stated. Still why depending on FSSAI for everything. Why not stop resorting to on-line shopping where series of mal-practices were experienced by LC members. Why not opt for physical shopping which also helps our health maintenance. more
