Great Initiative

I feel this is a great initiative by FSSAi to connect with junta. This is an area concerning aam aadmi and many of us feel bad when a restaurant or food vendor cheats us and there is no where to go for us.

I want to know whether Homeopathy medicines come under ambit of fssai as I feel these practitioners are giving bottles with numbers and there is no standardisation. How should consumers who take homeopathy be made aware. Must be 10M plus ppl in country taking it. Very common is small towns too.

Appreciate thoughts of all and if way forward can emerge.

WHAT IS THE FN OF FSSAI.WHO IS TO BE CONTACT.WHAT IS THE CHECK FOR THOSE PEOPLE.JUST FORMING OR GIVING MSG THAT FORMED WILL NOT SERVE.WHO IS THE TOP TO LOW LEVEL WITH CONTACT DETAILS.COMPLIAINTS REGD AND ACTION TAKEN AND IT SHOULD BE REVIEWED REGULARLY. more
What about the quality, hygiene and safety of food sold by street vendors, small hotels, and restaurants and even railway pantry? FASSI has no jurisdiction/control over it . Though it is the responsibility and under the control of health officers of municipalities , they rarely conduct checks and report .Most of their needs are met by these vendors regularly. The hygiene conditions in many of these vendors are so pathetic and scary.Once in a while (may be once in a year ) these officers give surprise visit just to create a news fodder to TV channels thereby telling the public about their existence. During last Diwali this kind of drama happened in Bengaluru when they swooped on some select sweet meat manufacturers and vendors and afterwards it is back to same "Dhande" more
Unless spurious food products are identified and eliminated from the market, FSSAI connect has no meaning. It is only like our politicians' talk and forget without any tangible action. Need to wait and watch for the results. more
This is a great platform to share experiences and thoughts with FSSAI. I have a grievance I want to share. This is about eatables and snacks and sweets being sold at every shop without a certificate by any food authority. These small time manufacturers supply these eatables made with very low quality oils and condiments which are dangerous for everybody's health including children who consume them almost in every home. There is no check by the Govt. and they are flourishing like mushrooms. They taste bad, smell bad and are very much below standards set by the FSSAI. Will anybody read/listen and bring it to attention of the authorities. Then other complaint is about regular increase in rates without input costs by the sellers and manufacturers like Haldiram, Bikaner and others. There has been no increase in the rates of the basic ingredients, but they increase their rates regularly burdening the consumers. This practice should be checked. Adarsh Varma more
Homeopathy is a medical system where they dispense medicines, not food items. Hence, Homeopathic medicine will fall within the Local Circle-Health. more
