HFSS Foods ban

Two years ago we had great consultation and survey in this circle about hfss high fat sugar salt foods and the fssai was going to take action.

I came across amul shrikhand recently 100 gm pack has 41 gm sugar basically a killer product.

What can we do so brands cut back on sugar in these excess sugar products? more

These excess sugar products should be banned. more
Can there be any specification for Shrikhand for its sugar content ? Then what about 'Rasogolla', 'Rajbhog' or 'Balushahi' , 'Makhan Vada' etc. ? Let us keep the matter focused on items which are of higher consumption volume. more
Like Amul, Mother Diary is also selling items like Rasogolla, Gulabjaman, Mathura Pera, Milk Cake etc. which have high concentration of sugar. If some one is taking objection to Amul's Shrikhand then what about Mother dairy items which have no standard. In fact sugar contents in Amul, Mother Dairy items are higher than items sold by well established sweet shops. more
There are lots of food adulteration in the country. Be it milk, ghee, Honey or any other products. Inspection authorities may be inspecting the product mix during manufacturing or when a product is ready for packing. In case any adulteration or modification takes places before packing and/or after inspection by respective authorities, the same inspection authorities should conduct random test at the outlets and penalize the supplier with hefty fine. more
How much shrikhand does one consume and how often? Consumer has option to buy such products. Now FRONT OF PACK LABELLING is going to be introduced. Font size on labels being increased. Is there enough space on labels for all these? Do common consumers read nutritional panel and other declarations on the packs? Maybe less than 0.1% read the labels other than BB date and MRP. Activists want legislation for everything, but they don't want consumers to take any responsibility for what they buy! Every small change increases cost and the the same activists complain that things are getting costly! There are rules of where to cross the road, why people don't follow? So in case of accident who should be penalized for this - those who cross the road anywhere or those driving on the road? Everyone has duties and responsibilities. Even the less educated. more
It is pity to say, there are so many confectioneries are there which are pure sugar candies and sold publically with ads for promotions. Some Indian home made cuisines which may consumed along with meals or some other supplements with limited quantity on speciall occasions. There is difference between them and also any thing eaten excess may cause health problems. Cautioning better than banking them. more
