A couple of days back, I received 2 letters from LIC. It started this "Dear Policyholder...". It was an intimation of maturity or survival benefit for the policy. Nowhere was the policy number mentioned, whether it was maturity or survival benefit , the date, the amount of payment, the bank details, the documents required. This was in sharp contrast to earlier information where they would specify all the details clearly. Is this a new way of harassing customers? Do they expect customers to file and RTI to get the information? more

You may contact your LIC branch either personally or through correspondence to collect the information as also to get confirmed that the said letter is a genuine one and not fake from a fraudster. more
Here is another example where Fraudsters are attempting to extract profile data of bank account holders for ulterior motive. I am an account holder in IDFC Firstbank Branch. Between August 24th to 27th, 2024 I received several messages at different times on the following lines. In the repeated messages OTP and document numbers were kept changing. From: AX-DLHVRY “Document from IDFCFIRST EXPRESS (AWB 6983150149281) is out for delivery. Share OTP 6033 (repeat msg. OTP 9574). Track & call agent@ appdelhivery.page.link/ofd –Delhivery” When the track & call agent site was visited, instead of any mobile number it required the visitor to fill a form that required his profile data. Since I ignored all the messages suspected to be fraudulent/bogus, I was shocked to receive yet another message as follows despite the fact my KYC data with the bank (IDFC FIRSTBANK) is complete and updated. From: BH-CKYCR To: 0931-----17 (My mobile No) Sent: 09/06/24 7:17 Received:09/06/24 7:17 “Dear PRITHVI NATH, your CKYCRR record bearing reference 40004073025322 was fetched by IDFC FIRST BANK LIMITED on 06/09/2024.-CERSAI” The entire matter was brought to the notice of the IDFC FRISTBANK Ltd.
