No MRP, Weight, date of manufacture or expiry on packaged products

My driver bought some packaged cookies and cakes (pics attached) from Golden Fiesta (sub of Sindhi Dry Fruits) in Central Mkt, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi on 28 July 2021. To my horror, I found no date of manufacture or expiry date,no MRP and no weight mentioned on any of the packages. In addition the driver was not given any bill. The products mention they are fssai certified. I seek clarity on the relevance of @fssaiindia certified products.

Who controls the malpractices? Not only are the fssai norms compromised in addition to customer's health, especially in these times of the pandemic, but also though the price charged to the customer is inclusive of GST the shopkeeper has no records and I'm sure is not paying GST. It's a known fact that "Sindhi ke yahan se toh chadawa chadta hai logon ko, jata hai"

My question really is who controls the malpractices if the police , GST officials and fssai are hand in glove with this shopkeeper, who incidentally has a chain of shops in the market. Whether it's dry fruits sold by him or street food, cakes, cookies or shoes, no bills are given.

On the 4th August, I went to the shop and found same practice. I then went to the local police station which is just about 200 yards away from the shop and apprised the police inspector Mr Brahm Dutt, who said he would look into the situation but since then refuses to answer my phone. I need advice on how to curtail this malpractice. Who will bell the cat? more

The food industry is under increasing pressure to meet the needs of a growing world population that is becoming more urbanized. In the industrialized countries, including some of the developing countries there is an upward trend towards convenience foods that are nutritious, healthy and easy to prepare. This has raised the demand for innovative solutions for preparing, separating, further processing, preserving, chilling, packaging and freezing a wide variety of meat, poultry, fish, seafood, oils and fats, fruit, vegetables, dairy products, bread, confectionary and food ingredients. From standard plant systems to customized solutions, food technology is required to be designed to meet optimum hygiene and quality standards, while operating efficiently and sustainably. Food business success is highly dependent on the performance of its suppliers. Therefore purchasing organization is constantly on the lookout for new, efficient suppliers who can contribute effectively to the goal of customer satisfaction. The aim is to strengthen the relationship with the suppliers. Moreover there is a need to prevent the use of conflict minerals in the products supplied to food business - the aim is to avoid the utilization of conflict minerals by diligently monitoring and auditing food business based supply chains. Most of the sales are generated in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. These markets are characterised by stable growth rates with comparatively small fluctuations. This is based on important global megatrends such as continuous population growth, the expansion of the middle classes, the demand for alternative protein sources and the trend towards healthy, functional and individual nutrition. Close contact with customers helps to continuously improve products and develop new ones, which can be reinforced with greater financial transparency. more
