Pesticide Management Bill seems ineffective

I am deeply dissapointed that the FSSAI or Agriculture Ministry fails to consult people on important issues. A Pesticide Management Bill is being tabled in parliament which talks about procss of registering etc but does not take cognizance of horrible experiences of Indian farmers and general people who are impacted by the toxicity, which is growing in tandem with the profits.

Since the Govt is not taking any initiative to consult people, I urge local circles to see what can be done so atleast the bill minimises use of pesticides in agriculture. Way too many cases of cancer happening and young people are getting affected.

High time the elected start consulting people more on issues. more

1.Politicians need to feel that they are responsible to the public first and their respective political parties later. They must work for the betterment of public not their political parties. 2 Every party must remember what they talked and did while in opposition 3 To get better politicians Voter card must be linked to Adhar card. more
Working on maternal and child issues in rural and tribal India, I have seen that most mothers who had a still born child had worked on pesticides. There are studies and anecdotal evidences on the impact of pesticides, but the chemical industry has been influencing policy through lobby and research. Time to wake up. more
