Post the LocalCircles escalation of a member's complaint about postman demanding a bribe to deliver passport, India Post has requested details of all such cases where post men are demanding bribes/tips.

The Passports are to be delivered in the given address, like any other Registered Post. It is not possible that the addressee should be present physically. But the Postman takes more care and insists to return the letter and it is delivered against some petty cash. more

The Complaints lodged (severallY) never ever redressed. It is the Complaint wherein the Registered partial allaged to be forwarded, wherein for TWO different Partial having different dates (months gap) was allagedly having same Dispatch number. Factually the delivery was NOT made, address was wrongly given/nerrated by RTO officials. No feedback, no redressal, No communcation, No response since several years. Same is the case of other Complaints seeking information about lost /misplaced NSC and other Documents. It seems that the OLD habit still prevails i.e. only stamp and deliver. NEED BASIC CHANGE IN CONCEPTUAL THINKING AND IDEALOGY more

In Post Office, it is not only corruption (postman asking for money on delivery of Licence / RC / Passport/ etc) but the total irresponsibility of delivery of the mail. Speed Post letters are dumped in letter boxes without taking signatures of the addressee. No body is responsible for magazines (bulk mail) that become missing. Complaint system is very long and complicated. The postal systems are to be revamped and made citizen friendly..... more
