wonder why FSSAI didnt share this report with us. In hyderabad 40% veggies have pesticides, in ahmedabad 70% have pesticides. everyone should go through it and demand their local officials to fix these issues. more

It is surprising that such killing agents are allowed to be used in our food stuffs and the respective state governments display gross negligence in dealing with the issue. more
We must know the actual level of residues, whether below or above the permitted MRL (Maximum Residue Limit).........which varies with the vegetable or fruit type and the pesticide in question. more

Commissioner of kerala had ordered 6000 kg of pepper to be destroyed by burning because it had been cancerogenous mineral oil and paraffin wax to add color and shine. A single judge of The High Court of Kerala had ordered the FSC to facilitate its cleaning. It was cleaned using detergent and water at a facility about 20 kms from my place. The Kerala SPCB informed, under the RTI Act, that 1/2 a liter of water was used for cleaning 1 kg of the stuff. I did not get the test reports pre or post cleaning. The last report I read was that it was found unfit for export and was to be sold in local market! So much for the competence and commitment of our authorities to do their job correctly. I must say that the only job they do is enforce the helmet and seat belt rules. Thanks to Ms Nikita Mehra and Dr P V Padmanabhan Nair. A few years back the Food Safety more
This is kaliyuga. Quarrel, hypocrisy and ignorance are three faces of kali. We cannot escape from plastic and pesticides completely The only way is to remove the pesticides at home. Purchase activated coconut carbon powder(Rs 100 per kg). Put the vegetables in a trough . Put the carbon and add water. just swirl for a while. Carbon will stick to pesticide containing sides. Remove the carbon in a stream of water . Along with carbon pesticide also goes Otherwise wash the vegetables in 5% acetic acid or ethyl alcohol. Pesticides will get washed off more
