While i agree with the spirit of the message but suggestions given may not be helpful at all. For eg. Conviction in 2 months may only lead to police resorting to wrongly convicting some poor person when not able to convict an actual influencial rapist. And once the poor person is hanged, the case will nit even be opened since it will create problems for police as well as judiciary. Such consequences need to be thought of. In the current case, the victim was scared at the toll point which had reasonable crowd. But she felt scared of this very public. So with such huge population of males that is a threat to the females, some other methods need to be thought of. First and foremost is cirrect education. Second is, banning porn that portrays females as sex objects. But movies showing partial acts of sex, where sex is shown as culmination of love may not be censored. Accountability of unvestigating agencies and judiciary for conviction. If fir is not written immidiately on reporting, or action not started immidiately, the concerned officer MUST be suspended immidiately, and if proven as irresponsible, must be sent to prison. Similarly, judges delaying the cases needlessly must be punished similarly. While we have heard of all govt personnel being suspended, have we heard of a single judge being suspended? Lastly and most importantly, lets stop voting for criminals, whatever party they maybe from. Lets all resolve, that our loyalities to any party or any leader will not blind us to make us vote for criminals. Remember, finally, the law will be made by these very elected repersentatives and whatever we may suggest, they will leave loopholes, if they themselves are criminals. So lets ensure, only people with clean records are elected. If clean people are sitting in parliament, they may not even need our suggestions, because with right intent, 545 good people will be able to tackle this problem. more
Good suggestions. In fact self defence training for all including women and senior citizens. more
Though being. emotional it may look right, but our constitution dies not permit such punishments even for a murder. Judicial probe etc.,as per principles of natural justice. more
Fully agree with the suggestions of Major Chand K Sharma more
