Water Safety and FSSAI

Gr8 to see this localcircles site becoming more and more useful. I had joined in 2013 when we moved from USA to GK2 Delhi and Noida thereafter.

My big concern is around water quality received by us at our home through local municipality like noida authority or delhi jal board.

What role can a standard body like fssai play in this. in munciipality its all bhagwan bharose and no body cares if your water has lead, rust, dangerous chemicals and a national standard needs to be established that atleast tells people whether they are getting safe drinkable water or not. more

Simply the Jal Board is providing you water. They have no time to examine the supply water. more
It is generally observed that organisations like FSSAI only have private companies on their radar. They just do nothing for checking the government organisations- whether it is water supply or factories. It is still a long journey but hopefully one day we will be happy. more
Is "FSSAI" working anywhere. There are so many inputs but not heard any action/s more
This is for the kind information and appropriate remedial action by all local circle members. THE RO (reverse osmosis) water so prevalent across the nation, is unsafe for human health, since it lacks essential trace elements of Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc etc. It is a WHO report. Kindly access the WHO report on RO water and satisfy yourself about its content. Early deaths have occured due to prolonged use of RO water. Request all members, first to take note, verify again for your own satisfaction, take action, and spread the message to all your family, friends, and acquaintances. You will be doing a great social service by preventing avoidable medical emergencies arising out of lack of essential elements in drinking water. more
What is required is that the corporation shall test the treated water as per WHO Standard requirement and keep record for verification by any interested customer and the conçerned health officials. They shall also get water samples tested atleast once in six months by an NABL accredited laboratory. more
