Compared to law and order, traffic is full of mismanagement. Instead of easy flow their management of traffic add to further problems. A case is Vadapalani junction where there us no pedestrian signal for past so many years may be 10 years. Another issue in the same stretch upto vadapalani bus stand , near Vijaya forum mall one can see all types of traffic violations, pedestrian encroachment, unauthorized parking etc. Autos, two wheelers drive on wrong side from Vadapalani bus stand to Vadapalani signal. All under right nose of traffic police. Before putting barricade or making one way etc, traffic police never discuss with the area population. God only save our lives

Alright the people are to be blamed - However, the enforcing authorities are doing nothing either. For example in front of holiday Inn (SRP tools), opposite side driving is very common. Police are mute spectators of this. Pedestrians will cross when signal turns green in taramani signal despite police presence. If there is a practical difficulty for the pedestrians, nothing is being done to solve this. Why is the police not creating awareness?

The citizens are to be blamed. Everytime i pass through a signal , i see the cars/Bikes zipping through without stopping at signals. The traffic police should be equiped to be able to arrest them at the next signal , or inform their counterparts of the license plate numbers. People on the roads have no discipline, and do not bother about pedestrians. Everytime, the blame falls on the traffic department. Cant the citizen follow these simple rules. If it was outside india, they follow them because they have too, then why not in their own country. Cant we make our country proud. The whole world speaks of India as a this and that, why cant we fight back, and show the world that we know what discipline is. When we in the Armedforces can follow the rules , why can a chennaite do so.

In many signals, if there is no traffic constables, most of the vehicle drivers violating signals, some areas constables are standing few meters away from the signal and catching violators, many signals are not functioning properly, signal synchronizing systems also not working, we know it is not possible only with the police department, hence, we may again once again introduce "CITIZEN FOR SAFE ROAD" introduced by erstwhile Commissioner Sri Vijaya Kumar, I. P. S., to improve the smooth movement of vehicle, violators are escaping easily, cameras may be maintained properly through the suppliers. Corporates may also be involved area wise to maintain signals, providing police canopies with fans wind, shields, which will help traffic personnels health.

It is better compared to few other cities, but public must be punished if crossing the signals and if they are not following the traffic rules, it is not accepting bribe from public, but the fine must reach the government, and if they cross signals more than 3 times, then they must be banned from driving and so on, also the driving licence must be scanned and one person one licence must be applicable, and no licence must be used by unexperienced people
