The law and order is generally good in chennai and it is only in the police the law and order is very bad.
For example they have a online complaint system in their website but it takes months for them to read the online complaint and even after reading it they do not seem to understand what is written in english and they call you to the police station to write the complaint fresh in tamil and by this time we loose our interest in the complaint given. It is common sense that the online complaint was introduced only for faster action and to avoid the public from going to the lousy police stations and meet them. But no rule or any law for them and still they follow the premitive system of meeting the Ettaiah with 1 quire paper and writing the way they dictate and take them in our cost to the place for any enquiry. That is why it is better to live with the problem rather than going to the police as they give more problems to the public. it is only in the press meets they claim themselves to have reformed but in reality it is not and also will not change. They are fit only for standing in the roads for protection of politicians.

It reflects, always the fluctuations. At times surprisingly good, but many times below average. I am mainly saying about traffic. Left with full freedom, ordinary constables seem to manage better many times the traffic, but when the higher ups appear there, the traffic goes for a SIX! Why I wonder! However corruption plays a havoc, especially when police take their 'share', at signals itself, it greatly affects those spotd!

one of the most corrupt of government agencies is the police department.they are hand in glove with the criminals.what can one expect!!!!

The Chennai City Traffic Police is able to address Grievances lodged through their Facebook Account. We would suggest that Chennai City Traffic Police adopt the policy of introducing Traffic Sentinels as is being done in Delhi. The Traffic Sentinels are drawn from the general public and are provided a Cell Phone App through which complaints are lodged with digital images and videos and action is initiated immediately by the Police.
