TRAFFIC RULES IN GURGAON ARE NONEXISTENT. Violation of rules are done right under the nose of traffic police, yet the police shows couldn't careless attitude. Can any one answer??? Our masses are violating rules at WILL, they too need to be taught lesson, the harder way. Yes there is a shortage of staff and they can't be omnipresent, but why they are not doing justice by awarding the penalties to send strong signals to Violators. Discipline should be enforced by what ever means but with in laid down limits. this will certainly bring respite, but there is something holding them back - I am not aware.
I am living in Gurgaon since 2007, on very few occasions i have seen Traffic police in Gurgaon, my work takes me around entire Gurgaon and i don't see them any where , and the occasions i have seen them - well they are looking the other way , literally !!!
I agree there are no traffic cops any where on the Vyapar Kendra side sector road or the Galleria market side sector road for the past week. Both these roads are one way and we see a lot of traffic going reverse way. Many a times I have tried to stop them...but who am I ? and do I have the authority? Can the traffic authorities open a site where photos can be posted of these vehicles traveling against these rules are captured on camera with their number plates and suitable action taken.
Traffic scene outside HUDA City Center Metro Station is a classic axample of inefficiency of Gurgaon Traffic Police. Auto wallas and Phatphatiya wallas openly flout traffic rules in front of Gurgaon Traffic Police. These autowallas are totally immune to police rules! But, definitely it is much better than a year ago.
To start with you hardly see a traffic policeman on Gurgaon roads! There is all kind of traffic mayhem and continuous breach of rules everywhere which would reduce significantly by the mere presence of smart looking traffic policemen.

It is rare to see a Gurgaon Traffic Police person managing traffic except on some very major crossings - I am not sure if this is due to lack of resources or any other reasons. You can name the traffic problem and Gurgaon is probably a leader in the country - wrong side driving even on one way roads, honking for no reason, jumping lights, no helmets, total disregard for road markings - everything goes here. I wish someone can take drastic action to improve all this.
Hyderabad police being active during the nights has brought in a lot of confidence to ordinary citizens like me. Keep it up although I think police needs to interact more with civil society and make themselves more approachable
