MRP and Best Before Date Compliance by eCommerce Sites/Apps - 6 months check

In late June 2017, basis your inputs the Packaged Commodity Rules 2017 amendment was issued going into effect from Jan 1, 2018. Two of the key changes made in law were the mandatory disclosure of actual product MRPs and best before dates (human consumption products) on eCommerce sites.

Via the Connected Consumers and the MRP Enforcement circles and other user complaints, we have been making policy and enforcement interventions to ensure compliance. As we come to the 6 months of this rule being in place, we want to hear from you about your recent experiences. Are you now able to find this information before making a purchase on ecommerce? What sites/apps are complying and which ones are not?

We look forward to your inputs!

In spite of Govt. rules and regulations the packed watet bottles (Kinley/ aquafina etc) are charge over MRP cost. This has become a menace. Couple of weeks ago I dined at " Dakshin" Dasapalla, Visakhapatnam. I had a bottle of Kinley water bottle (room temerature) and the restaurant charged me three times the MRP. Govt. should send police person in pain cloths and let them drink Kinley water bottle. The management should be charged for this offence. dc ------------------------------------------- Dr. D. Pharmacy selling the medicinal item Trejanta Duo 2.5/500 which I purchased has no Rate (MRP) mentioned on it but the dates and batch numbers are shown. What action will the government take to control this type of products? more
Sir, Like the date of BEST BEFORE it must be mandatory to print the date of manufacturing, the food items or snacks are manufactured in large lots and whenever we ask the manufacturer's CUSTOMER CARE the reply is given "PACKING DATE IS MANUFACTURING DATE" I don't think so.Even the ingredients are also not listed as per item. many times it is the same list for many items , probably the manufacturer wants to save money by getting printed many varieties of packing -printing exclusively-. more
