Yes indeed, Guptaji. Dates are known to have inherent in them all the benefits that you have so aptly described. In the middle-eastern countries, I am told, that they use dates in almost every culinary dish, be it biryani or meat curries and zarda........... even in sweet dishes like kheer and savaiyyan! We cannot be thankful to the Almighty enough for all the goodies that He lets grow on this our earth for our general health and benefits..... more

Dry dates or chhuara do not increase weight they only give strength to the system and body. I have been taking dry chhuaras-1, with almonds-5, raw pista-5, akhrot-1 soaked in water at night and churned in mixie early in the morning for last 6 months- tonic for heart/brain/vitality. more
