On what basis you say that this water bottle is being sold for Rs. 145/-? You should narrate the whole episode. more
Dear Ms. Sheetal, Please share your experience from Complaint to resolving the Complaint for better understanding. The way, Name of officers / Dept contacted, Actions atken by them for this. Requesting for the information purpose only. more
Thank you for taking action on this local circles and consumer affairs. more
Ms.Sheetal, Can u explain in detail about this case. Is it happening in only one shop or many shops in Gurgaon ? If random shops are charging mineral water more than mrp, there should be some genuine reason behind it. In case of only particular shop is charging higher than mrp, consumer should go to consumer court. more
Should I call it a loot or the utilisation of brains to make money that too from the thirsty people? What the Government will do when they do not bother even to see that the Licence was given for the sale of particular items & not the one sold at counter? The MRP is also different for different occasions & different vendors. The inner feeling of the sellers that who will challenge them even if they charge more than MRP is prominent because no action has ever been taken against anybody charging more than the MRP. Why Railway Stations, Hotels, Restaurants, Airports, Cinema Houses, Natak Grihas, Exhibition Centres be made exceptions to charge any rate? If the stall owners have to pay huge amount to the authorities for running their business establishments then is it the fault of the common public? Why should we all suffer? Now let us find out why we pay the premium price to get this bottled water? We pay it as we feel the water in the bottle is safe, having the desired minerals, filtration of the water is done properly, packaging is good & cleaned thoroughly, foreign particulate matters are checked, material is properly quarantined before sending the material for sale in the market. But I am sorry to say that the points mentioned by me are hardly found in the packaged bottles. Leave aside any branded well known manufacturer even an ordinary manufacturer also charges appreciably. No passing certificate of the material is attached on the bottle, neither the contents nor their percentages are written on the label. Whatever is written on the label is also not properly readable. Batch No., Date of Manufacture, Expiry Date or Best before date, Date when the material got passed is hardly readable & sometimes is not at all printed. On top of that if more than 130/= extra have to be shelled out for this type of water, I would prefer the following alternatives. Carry water bottle along with you to the places where drinking water taps are not available, prefer to drink Cold Drink at normal temperature costing less than Water bottle or drink Tea/Coffee, which definitely cost less & keep you full, not requiring to drink water very fast, carry the fruits' pieces with you which carry enough of water content so that you do not need to drink water. Any way these substitutes may not be liked by all & may not be suitable for all but if any substitute is possible then there is no harm in trying that. Also never feel shy to take action against the persons charging more than the MRP by asking & preserving the Bill for taking action in future. more
