act of Yash Raj Films (YRF) constitutes Restrictive Trade Practice

I fully endorse views of Anshu Saxena. The very recent example is that of Yash Raj Film's (YRF) "Thugs of Hindustan". YRF had monopolized and blocked almost all theatres and almost all shows therein for allowing Thugs of Hindustan. As a result a Marathi movie "Ani ... Dr Kashinath Ghanekar" could not get many theatres and whatever theatres they got, they had to be content with hardly one show and that too at very odd time in Maharashtra.
Such act of Yash Raj Films (YRF) definitely constitutes Restrictive Trade Practice to kill competition and to inflate ticket rates four times for Thugs of Hindustan and thereby exploit monopolistic position by manipulating tkt rates snd make miney.

This is a fit case which Dept of Consumer Affairs should refer to CCI for taking suo motu cognizance and slap exemplary fine on YRF.

Why not there should be ticket price decide by producer of the movie. I mean if it is low budget movie then producer should decide the price of ticket. imagine we are paying same price for high budget and low budget movies. same price of ticket is actually impacting movie sale. public prefer of watching high budget in the same price. and few actually good movies many time suffer due to this price war. more
Certainly a fit case for CCI to take a suo moto action. Incidentally, why don't you file a case with CCI at CWF cost? more
Sir, assuming something which may or may not have happened is not right, you sure wll agree more

Its not only YRF, all the big producers, stars do this to show that their film made business of 1 cr +, most of them are inflated and manipulated. No one really knows the truth. If this falls into restrictive trade practices, then action needs to be taken. more
