Apple products - Buyers Beware
Apple is extremely strict in following their policy which is more than 20-30 pages. They expect customers to read that before purchasing product. I had bought 5 Mac Laptops between 2015 and 2017, brand new from Apple authorized distributor. One Laptop which was bought in 2016 didn’t work very first day when box was open. Unfortunately we firstine used in in 2018, which is after warranty period. Even though I had bought so many laptops and iPhones, they wouldn’t even diagnose issue without their huge service fees. Of course warranty is from day of purchase and not from day of use, but one could still expect product to work while cost is more than a car. While reviewing detail I saw that this product was manufactured in 2015. Why Apple is allowed to sell products more than year old in India? They can sell product more than year old but they wouldn’t be bit flexible to at least check their own product for poor quality when it didn’t work on day one. Also, up on reviewing policy I see that they do. It provide battery warranty even within year. As usual policy writing is complicated and can be interpreted many ways. I thought to put this post to ensure someone else don’t make same mistake as I made and review policy in detail. This is the only way Apple works. more

Recently in Jan , I bought apple ipad from an authorised apple reseller in Chembur . In spite of many attempts they are not giving the one year warranty which they said will come from Apple. Outrageous, as there is no where to complain more

Please take up the matter with Apollo computer and I think they will consider favourably. more

To me,the AMERICAN COMPANIES ARE RIGHTLY KNOWN AS "COW BOY COMPANIES"!Let me share an anecdote with you...couple of years back my daughter gave us an US made sugar measuring hand held tiny device.It is made by Jhonson & J...due to non use,it refused to work when put in use after two years.I simply phone the JHONSON & J..and told them that our glucometer is not working. They advised us to ship the instrument to MUMBAI.To our utter delight ,a brand new instrument was delivered to us.I suppose J & J is a British co.Still,you may call 1600 11 4000 (NATIONAL HELP LINE FOR CUSTOMER GRIEVANCE CELL and seek guidance.BN DAS more

This is true with any policy and also for all the terms and conditions which normallyare in small print and which anyone has to read needs a magnifying glass and then understand the same. It is always good if in a gist with higher font size the salient points are mentioned for consumers to understand better and what effects them in a language that ordinary layman can understand more

It is not humanly possible to read their policy and user manual as they are in tiny letters and are very highly legal words. When they sell their products manufactured in 2015 in 2016 or 2017 they must sure honor the service warranty. CLAIMING WORLDWIDE THAT THEIR PRODUCT IS OF SUPERIOR QUALITY AND not helping the customer shows the dealers attitude to ignore the customer. Please raise the issue with the parent company. MANY REPUTED FIRMS PROCLAIMING THAT THEIR PRODUCTS ARE SUPERIOR SELL DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS SOMETIME AND DO NOT WISH TO HELP THE CUSTOMER. I had this poor after sales service problem with one of my mobile phone or smart phone wherein the warranty service was poor as the handset failed two times and also when the battery failed they said they do not service the product as they have obsoleted it, though I have used it for one and a half year only. It is a pathetic situation that some customers are made to face obstacles and difficulties after buying products based on the brand name and the market hype. more
