DEALERS ARE DEMANDING PRICE HIGHER THAN MRP. IT IS JUST ONE SIDE OF THE STORY. THERE IS ANOTHER BAFFLING SIDE WHICH NEEDS MORE CAREFUL ATTENTION OF THE GOVT. GOVT. SUPPLIERS FIX VERY HIGH M.R.P. AND THEN QUOTE BELOW MRP PRICE IN A QUOTATION AND TENDER. PUBLISHERS IN THE NAME OF LIBRARY EDITION FIX ARBITRARILY HIGH PRICE AND THEN OFFER HIGH DISCOUNTS OR BRIBES TO THOSE WHO RECOMMEND IT FOR PURCHASE AND TO THOSE WHO APPROVE AND ALSO TO ACCOUNTS DEPT AND LIBRARIAN.
I WAS TAKEN ABACK WHEN RECENTLY I VISITED RELIANCE RETAIL WHERE MRP OF 10 KG. PACK OF WHEAT FLOOR WAS MARKED RS 2400 WITH A DISCOUNT TAG OF 80% NET PRICE PAYABLE WAS STILL EXORBITANT AT RS. 35 PER KG. WILL THE DEPT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS TAKE NOTE OF IT AND ACT FAST TO STOP THIS OPEN LOOT OF CONSUMERS AND PUBLIC MONEY? more

Must confess haven't really checked! However if true Govt must take strict action because it infringes the rights of a consumer to a fair price and by misleading a consumer into the belief that that he/she is buying cheaper is actually a fraud and punishable by law. more

NM Khandelwal Ji it is India, the corruption has gone to our blood which will require change of DNA but how long it will take only GOD knows. Every one is corrupt right from top to bottom. Politicians, beaurocrats and people. Whom you are blaming. It is we who encourage bribery. GOD BLESS INDIA SOMTHAT IT IMPROVES ITS POSITION BEFORE THE WORLD. No body can help it. more

Surprisingly my comments have been deleted which is hard to digest & indicates that some pro trader lobby is in business. I again reiterate that some some sort of data base of such items & trader be circulated through this media so that the consumer is benefited at large. While shopping the consumer should be educated enough to be armed against all such tricks only then this can stop. more
