Bad Govt Policies on Vehicle Scrappage

Discarded Prosperity

Thousands of such attractive spots will be visible all over the country soon (see attached)

Gov't forcing citizens dump vehicles after 10 years, even those PUC (Pollution Under Control) compliant

We need LC Manager to take this up. Other than this forum I feel there isn’t any other even one tenth as effective to escalate issues and bring changes to Sarkari policies so please. more

What about Senior Citizen, whose car runs very less Kms. They need the cars for personnel comfort as they can not travel by bus or trains. I request the Govt to have different yard stick for Senior Citizens. more
I agree with most of the posts calling the policy favoring manufacturers. However to prevent people from using noncompliant vehicles should be punished heavily say Rs. 10,000/=or more because for whatever reason we are not a law complying society. Secondly as Shri Amod Sathe says it is necessary that shortcommings in the law must be promptly corrected and make it people friendly to follow and abide by it. However I think that we have too many cars and too little space to park - during day as well as night (You may see several cars parked outside on the roadside. Policy like need based purchase of cars with strict/ inflexible rules for judgement need to be framed now rather than later. R.Y. Kutumbe. more
Forcing people to scrap their  vehicles without giving any consideration to the condition of the vehicle is,in deed,a very very bad policy. At best government can encourage people to scrap their 10 years old vehicles by offering attractive incentives, but forcing them to do so is anti-people policy and makes no sense at all.It should be strongly resiste ANIL SHARMA On Sunday, 30 July, 2023 at 07:04:54 am IST, Seema Shah wrote: more
The scrapping certificate has to be obtained from RTO recognized scrappers, otherwise liability still on the owners & then no use for obtaining concessions in new vehicle price, road tax etc.(which are meagre for two-wheelers at large). Many of the scrappers when enquired, themselves don't know whether they are recognized & expect customers to ascertain themselves (they will just issue a certificate!). These limitations must be solved by the governments. more
A Meaningless Policy, crafted in the interest of Vehicle Mfg. it seems. 10 yrs , that too if the vehicle is maintained to be pollution complient is a joke. with fuel cost rising and 2 yrs vehicle not used Govt is forcing lakhs to buy new vehicle, under such condition this decision will be a brainless , wested interest act. more
