Bank charges on NPA account
Recently my C/C account of Rs 400000/- in SBI became NPA due to default of payments since Dec 2019. Bank charged Rs 40000/- towards NPA charges, Rs 27000 towards measurement and seizure charges, Rs 4100 towards valuation of property. I had to pay all these + interest for the period and the penal interest. Total Rs 1,12,000 for default of Rs 400000/- that too during pandemic. Is this how banks are helping the entrepreneurs. Are all these charges valid? Can I write to any forum so that these could be reimbursed. more

The loan account which were standard as on 28/02/20 are eligible for interest waiver . As such, you may not qualify for this concession. Anyway, you can write to to SBI for negotiated settlement. These days bankers are also keen for quick resolutions of NPA accounts. more

There is no charge as "NPA Charges". Please verify and seek clarification from the Bank. more

Don't pay any charges. As big industrialist took thousand crores of loan from SBI but didn't pay single rupees. SBI didn't took any action against them(NPA account). I think that govt established SBI for the big players to make them crorepati. more
