Being active consumers

The anti-profiteering authority is saying that there is not a single complaint from 17 states of India. My question is why is that the case. Are we just ignorant people or do we not understand profiteering? The states supposedly are all the North East states, MP, Gujarat, Punjab, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Himachal, Orrisa, J&K.

All one needs is before and after rate reduction prices and MRP and is the reduction from 28 to 18% has not been reflected in lower MRP/prices, the brand or seller can be booked.

Do your bit otherwise these brands will take you for granted. See what these airlines did to poor Keralites on airfares. One way Trivandrum Delhi was 20000 for a friend of mine just because... more

Why Govt Anti profiteering chech agencies wait for complaints ? can't they check at their own end whether reduction of GST from 28% to 18 % implented by respective vendors or not .It's unfortunate when even complaints are not being addressed. more
@Shri G C Mathur ji, Sir, I personally feel that setting up of NAA need to be reviewed as it would finally come as a burden on tax payers money that too just as an eye wash. My expectation is not a single complaint being upheld since its inception. Just 4 orders is making us feel surprised. My take on the subject is that it would be very very difficult to come out with a conclusion about industry adapting profiteering for which a detailed reasoning was given in one of my post in this community. more
I do not believe the Anti Profiteering Report "The anti-profiteering authority is saying that there is not a single complaint from 17 states of India. My question is why is that the case." They are lies. And, most the states mentioned are under BJP rule. Ask the Authority to re-visit its findings and reports. more
1. I myself had send the details on a restaurants who had increased the prices post GST period despite the taxes being reduced due to composition scheme. The issue was raised in November 2017 and the action is yet to be taken. 2. Sir, it is very difficult to prove the action leading to profiteering due to several factors which have been mentioned in my previous post and one of the factor is the allowing the manufacturer to use the existing packages for many months after announcement of the GST reduction. As a result it does not come to the notice and hence there may not be any complaints. 3. So far only 5 cases of profiteering have been adjudicated and possibly none of the case has been upheld. In this context, a case No. 5/2018 is well relevant to be referred wherein a discount of Rs. 500/- offered pre-reduction which was withdrawn post reduction. This particular complaint has also not been upheld despite a fact that the discount resulted into the profit in the transaction. What is the justification of withdrawal of the discount after the taxes have been reduced is beyond understanding of any consumer. 4. In view of point No. 3, I personally feel there may not be any complaint of the profiteering which can be understood, analysed and adjudicated in favor of the consumer. 5. I am really surprised why the complaint against a restaurant made in November 2017 is still unresponsive. The complaint has been supported with proper analysis as well documented. more
In fact the authority should be worried that there is not a single complaint from 17 states. This is not a feather in its cap but a shame that there is something very seriously wrong with the implementation of its policy or redressal system which the authority is neglecting. Or the citizens have become so passive so as not to complain any further, considering and confirming that the process to be a farce. It should have analysed its deficiency as to why the other states are complaining and these 17 states are silent and come out with its reasons. A proactive authority would already have done this rather than coming out with such silly statements. It simply conveys the sense and seriousness of the authority in taking things for granted. At least, the authority should refrain from making such statements, if it has shame. Or is it shifting the blame on the citizens that they are not complaining? more
