Blacklisting of Sellers on Ecommerce platforms

Since anyone is free to become a seller on eCommerce sites and eCommerce co.s encourage that, people with intentions to cheat get on eCommerce and either sell defective or counterfeit products.

It is actually an urgent need of the hour to have standards for when a seller must be blacklisted by an eCommerce company and common guidelines for the same. Also eCommerce companies should learn from each other. World over when an entity defaults, all creditors come to know fast.

This is ofcourse only if eCommerce companies themselves aren't interested in selling counterfeit goods. Remember, they can only offer 80% off on such products and help with turnover. more

To understand the process, try to register as a seller on a e-commerce site. They do due diligence before on-boarding sellers as they are liable for the sellers merchandise as well. more
The e commerce company should follow these guide lines: 1.Original Products 2.Real Prices 3.Expiry dates 4.Packing 5.Quality 6.Return/replacement/Refund policy 7.Impose penality if found guilty on any count If they see these guidelines they will also get reputability of selling good products. more
No one is scar of law, because there is escape route available. more
That will not solve the issue. The way out is as follows. All e-commerce companies must have a link to the concerned government agencies which the consumers can activate while making a complaint to the e-commerce company about a fake product delivered through their e-commerce. Further, the onus should be on the e-commerce company and not on the company actually delivered the product as such both the punishment and the penalty, if any, will be applicable on the directors of the e-commerce company. more
As such in India people are least scared of law, hence there has to be a provision of black listing the errant supplier. more
