I booked a room in a Hotel at Visakhapatnam through Paytm by paying money online. Paytm sent me a confirmation letter regarding the hotel resevation and asked to show a printed copy of the invoice while check in. When I went to the hotel the person at the reception desk bluntly denied me to offer any room as he had not recieved any communication from Paytm. When I called to the Paytm costumer care people the lady executive who lifted the phone only begged excuse for the inconvinience and stated her inability to help in any form. I was so much harrased in that situation and could not find an accommodation in the unknown city. Paytm also did not refund any of my paid amount in spite of writing letter to their costumer care. So it is very risky to do any online purchase through Paytm. more
Hello Mr. SOMANATH DASH - It is sad that you faced the problem from a big company like paytm. You will be contacted by some senior person from this company soon as I sent your case there with one of my reference there. Just want to share with all the ladies and gentlemen here - none of the big companies like paytm want to set any example like this. Problem like this comes mainly because of some middle layer entity like payment gateway (As some said), it may be with delivery person, some agent or with the final service provider. If you are coming with proper channel step by step. Your problem must be taken care by someone. If you recall - please share the name of agent who took your call or email in their customer care. more
I will be careful while using Paytm. Looks like it's meant for small payments say about a thousand. Thanks for sharing. I had used OYO rooms and found it good. However, did not pre pay except in one hotel. One suggestion, pl always call up the hotel and confirm reservation. I did so even with a four star hotel in Langkawi, Malaysia.
