Cable TV charges - Covid 19

During this Covid-19, Govts, Corporates and every citizen are sacrificing to the extent possible despite loss of income and pains. In case of cable TV and Dish operators have not contributed anything by reduction of charges. People are watching TVs by subscription for news, entertainment, serials, sports etc. But due to lockdown regulations, they repeat broadcast of old movies, same serials etc and with corona news continuously. Of course, no doubt, news reporters in the field are risking their lives and cable/dish TV operators are running the show. But we pay full subscription which is meant for new entertainments, serials, programmes etc and not for the one what we have already watched. It is high time, cable/dish TV operators have to reduce the subscription rates with retrospective effect from March atleast by 50% of existing charges. They can revert to old charges, when they start telecast programmes as before Covid-19. We as a citizen, need to start a movement and ensure this reaches the Govt. attention for relief from the operators more

TRAI has fixed the charges and guidelines are framed. Restriction if any, is due to circumstances and not intentional. There is no fault on the part of Cable TV operators. Their employees are facing COVID,while collecting news. Why to reduce the rate ? more
As such Dish / Cable TV rates have increased manifold by the courtesy of TRAI for the last 3 years. Despite repeated appeals by large number of citizens, Govt. didn't do anything. We have no other alternative but to survive with this. I once again request Local Circles to raise this issue and take it up with concerned ministry / TRAI. more
Very true. Sun TV has increased 3 month subscription by a whopping 25%. What morality these cable operators have! I understand with other vendors who prepare materials and sell them increasing the costs. In a way that is justifiable also. But cable operators have been immense beneficiaries of the lock down as more people sit at home and watch TV. I do not hae experience with cable operators. Can the LC members enlighten me about them please? There seems to be no control over their looting and cheating the public. As many LC members point out here, they TVs show commercials for 14 mts in a 30 mts programme. They steal not only our money but our time also. TRAI seems to have taken a permanet holiday about their concern for the paying public. more
WELL POINTED OUT AND FURTHER ELABORATED BY MR. MOHIT. THIS CASE SHOULD BE TAKEN UP WITH GOVERNMENT more
