Cancellation charges for Europe Tour Package by Thomas cook India
I have made payment to Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. with Tour start date of 12th April 2020. The tour was cancelled due to Govt. of India Tourism advisory against travelling to France, Germany and other European countries due to COVID19 outbreak but to my utter horror, I received an email stating a hefty cancellation charge in spite of purchasing a Travel Protection plan. This is a open loot by the tour operators where there is a clear govt. advisory against travel to the European countries.
If anyone in this forum is also affected then they may raise similar complaint. more

You should be able to take plea under Force major - consult legal expert with all the information more

You should have rescheduled your journey and not cancelled it. Rescheduling does not attract any charges but cancellation does. more

Railway cancellation charges are between Rs.250 and Rs.300 in case of 2AC or CC. Have paid huge amount of cancellation charges due to cancellation of tickets in 5 different trains owing to coronavirus epidemic and Govt. advice against non essential travel/holiday trip. more

What governmental orders? Who listens, anyway?? The Railways charged us Rs.120 for cancellation of tickets for each travel. more
