Cap Surge Pricing by Ola and Uber

Local Circles members pleased to share with you due to efforts by folks like myself and yourself in Kolkata, from now on, none of two major aggregators — Uber and Ola — can charge a surge fare more than 45% of the base fare. Since the metered AC cab fare — Rs 18.75 — is the new base fare for app cabs, the maximum surge will be restricted to Rs 27.2 per km.

You may kindly raise this issue in your states circle or at national level and stop this loot of Ola Uber others. more

We have seen Kali Pili Taxis. They were putting people in to lot of inconvenience. This is much better and reliable.Yes capping has to be there and 45% upper limit is OK. more
All of us are addicted of OLA & UBER, seldom people think of this issue. Everyone wants convenience, no body raises voice. That is reason this kind of Unethical pricing happens. more
Money power makes these Organisations to have MONOPOLY. Some regulations ought to be initiated. more
They are doing this because we are ready to pay and do not raise our these issues and instead of hiring these taxies adopt other modes of transport for our requirements. more
Why should they be allowed to charge any additional fare more than the fixed usual taxi fare? The respective state governments should ask them to charge at par with other taxi fixed by them. If they don't agree, cancel their permits and ask to leave the city. However, it would not be fair to blame them alone. We, the consumers, are responsible for their arrogance & greeds to a large extant, as a folk of our society have sources for fat income much in excess to their requirements (people in service and professionals/business men) and don't mind to meet the illegitimate demands of various service providers to display their status forgetting that such actions of theirs only adversely affect the interests of the majority of the people of the society having limited financial capacity. more
